Our Mission
CakePie Games came about after seeing the need for more games to help people get introduced into the wonderful world of hobby games. But our team noticed that these games were few and far between, and lots of games that were great for doing this looked, on the outset, extremely overwhelming. With this in mind, Josh and Brennan teamed up to create games that were a Piece of Cake to Teach and Easy as Pie to Setup. Thus, CakePie Games was born!

Joshua Bowman
Josh lives in the little town of Holly Ridge, NC. He has been designing and testing games since 2016 starting with Dungeons and Dragons and over the past 5 years has developed passion for the board game design and development.
His game Uinta was a finalist for the 2022 Cardboard Edison Award and has been a developer for Castillo Games, for which he co-designed Guns or Treasure: Pirates and Monkeys (still working on the BGG credit!).
He is also the Producer and Co-Host for the Tabletop Submarine Podcast.

Brennan Smith
Brennan lives in Columbus, Ohio and has loved games his whole life. He was exposed to early games like Star Wars: Epic Duels and Monopoly which led to Munchkin and Ticket to Ride in High School.
From there, his knowledge and passion for the industry exploded and he has been designing ever since. Brennan has picked up some development skills on freelancing projects and has been playtesting games for companies for several years.
